Questions Before Technical Selection

Is a tube bundle extractor the same as a bundle puller?

Yes. In heat exchanger maintenance, both terms commonly describe equipment used to remove, support and reinstall a shell-and-tube exchanger bundle.

Does bundle weight equal required pulling force?

No. Fouling, corrosion, deposits, adhesion, alignment and previous extraction conditions can make actual pulling resistance higher than the bundle weight.

What data is needed for model selection?

Send the bundle weight, length and diameter, exchanger drawing, centreline height, available working space, site photos and previous extraction condition.

When should diesel power be selected?

Diesel is practical where a suitable industrial electrical supply is unavailable or the machine must move between temporary outdoor work areas.

When should electric power be selected?

Electric power can suit fixed plants or workshops with a suitable supply. The actual transmission and control arrangement must be confirmed from approved technical data.

Can one machine be used for reinsertion?

A correctly configured extractor can support controlled reinsertion after cleaning, inspection or repair, subject to the approved site procedure and alignment plan.
